Our vision is a stable, self-sustaining community that provides choices in education,
employment and economic opportunity for our citizens as well as preserve our history,
traditions, values, language, and the future of our citizens as a distinct people.
The Kinistin Saulteaux Nation local governance consists of one Chief and five Councillors who govern under the Kinistin Saulteaux Nation Constitution and Council Code of Expectations.
Chief and Council serve a two-year term of office; the current term is 2021 – 2023.
Chief Felix Thomas has been an active Member of the Kinistin Saulteaux Nation community for over 30 years working with Urban Members, serving on boards and brings # years of Chief and Council experience prior to being elected Chief in 2021.
Cecil grew up on Kinistin and enjoys learning and contributing to the community and our urban membership. Cecil moved away to work in the oil and gas industry, for over 10 years, before moving back home in 2017. He opened a gas station on Kinistin which continues to provide a reliable and vital service for the community along with employment opportunities for band members. He is excited to serve on the council for his third consecutive term and proudly represents our band members.

My name is Kalvin B Nippi Sr, I have lived in Kinistin for the most part of my life l only left to play sports and educate myself. I have 8 children and many grand kids and a few great grands. I have worked various jobs throughout my career mostly in the construction industry . My hobbies include hunting, fixing old vehicles, riding my quad and golf.
